The Promise of Emancipation. Praying that this time it will be the truth. Samantha CLAAR explores the beauty that is the Gullah-Geechee of the Lowcountry. For Samantha, her art is not confined to brushstrokes and canvas—it is a powerful vehicle for sharing the rich history of the Gullah-Geechee people in the Lowcountry. Through her paintings, she imparts their stories and kindles a desire within others to spread knowledge and understanding. Samantha’s work challenges perceptions and serves as a reminder that history must be shared to pave the way for a future founded on equality, fairness, and reparation.
